Although each client's needs are unique and I cater my services to each individual business, the general process falls into two steps:
Step 1: “Set Me up for Success” Package
Step 2: Client Chooses Between 3 Options
1. Client Takes Over Bookkeeping (client maintains QuickBooks Online file) OR
2. “Time to Exhale - I've Got it Covered” Package OR
a. Download monthly transactions into QuickBooks Online
b. Input “Owner’s Investment”/"Loans from Shareholder" (biz expenses paid with personal funds or cash)
c. E-mail monthly Profit & Loss Statement to client
d. Help client develop financial workflows to more efficiently run their business.
e. Remind client to renew business licenses & registration at proper times & assist them with paperwork
f. Daily Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable including follow-up w/client's customers and vendors
g. Serve as liaison between client & accountant throughout year
h. Run payroll through QuickBooks Online and take care of payroll tax payments.
i. Basic HR functions such as setting up new employees & coordinating insurance benefits with insurance reps.
j. Issue 1099s to independent contractors, landlords & anyone else who requires a 1099 at tax time.
3. “Just Get Me Ready for Tax Time” Package
a. Download monthly transactions into QuickBooks
b. Input “Owner’s Investment”/"Loans from Shareholder" (biz expenses paid with personal funds or cash)
c. E-mail monthly P&L Statement to client
d. E-mail financial statements and/or QuickBooks backup file to accountant before taxes are due
What I Don’t Offer
Step 1: “Set Me up for Success” Package
- Discussion re: type of business & accounting system
- Open business bank account (add myself as signer, if appropriate)
- Check that business is properly registered with Corporation Division
- Start up a QuickBooks Online file
- Input monthly business transactions into QuickBooks
- Organize & input existing paperwork & receipts
- E-mail financial snapshot of catch-up months to client (usually in form of Profit & Loss Statement)
- Establish A/P & A/R process, if needed

What I Don’t Offer
- Legal business advice (I can refer you to excellent small business lawyers)
- Tax preparation (I will serve as a liaison between you & your accountant and submit financial reports to your CPA at tax time)
- On-site bookkeeping; I work from home since I'm the full-time caregiver of my kids. I don't mind meeting in-person occasionally, but the actual work will be performed at my home office.
